Message	a car that is not meant to be a sports car, ie: honda civic. I can't really term any specific mods "rice" because body kits, clear lenses, etc. are used by all sports car owners. Also, badging a car with stickers designating a higher performance level, ie: Type-R, Si-R, V-tech stickers on cars that ARE NOT those cars is "rice" to me. A lot of it has to do with mods that have no bearing on performance. And given my "Go before show" mentality, I have to say that if it doesn't make it faster or enhance it's performance, it's not for me. Now show cars are different. Mods to make them look better are obviously needed...aahhhhhh screw it. Ricer is a person that buys a economy car, import or domestic, and trys to make it a sports car, thats the best I can do. As for where the term originated, I have to disagree with the "racist" term there. Yeah it has to do with rice in Japan, but whatever. As for why all Japanese cars are not rice and some are, I don't know. I guess the term "Rice" is like the question "what body kit will look the best?" because everyone will have a different opinion on it.
